Daily Madden: 49ers Turning Super Bowl Into Business Trip
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The 49ers arrived in New Orleans Sunday to settle in for a full week of preparation for the Super Bowl.
"They know what they have to do," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "There's enough experience now with the Super Bowl, and the 49ers have been in so many big games all year that you can just tell that they're going to handle it the right way."
The 49ers will use the New Orleans Saints practice facility, which Madden said is an advantage.
"The facility is a big thing among the little things," he said. "If you're the NFC team and you're playing in an NFC town, then you get their facilities. So the 49ers automatically got the New Orleans Saints facility."
The Ravens will practice at Tulane University.
KCBS sports anchor Steve Bitker is in New Orleans to cover the week's activities. Madden said he could assure him entrance to at least one big night-time event, the Madden EA Sports Super Bowl party.
"I can get him inside the ropes, yeah," Madden said. "I got a guy... Since I've retired, though, I don't have as many guys as I used to have." (8:30)
