Daily Madden: 49ers Facing Texans At The Right Time
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The 2-2 Houston Texans visit Candlestick Sunday to face the 2-2 49ers. John Madden sees a 49ers victory in a close game.
"Houston is struggling, and their quarterback Matt Schaub is struggling," Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "There doesn't look like there's a lot of confidence there. It will be a close game. It will be tight. But it seems like Houston finds a way to lose those type games."
Houston has a strong running game and a tough defense.
"I can't see the 49ers defense being beaten by runs... (But the Texans) do have good defense."
Both starting quarterbacks were injured in Cleveland's Thursday night victory over Buffalo. Does the short turnaround between Sunday and Thursday lead to more injuries? Madden thinks so.
"Football is not made to be played with three days off," John said. "And then you really put a burden on the traveling team... The good of it is after it's over you get ten days. But it's tough to play." (6:20)
