Dad Of Dead Stockton Bank Robbery Suspect Offers His Sympathy To Victim's Family
STOCKTON (CBS SF) -- The father of one of the suspects who died in Wednesday's bank robbery in Stockton is offering his sympathy to the family of the hostage who was killed.
"I want to express my deepest condolences on behalf of my family," said Gregory Jon Martinez. "I want to be known that my heart goes out to them. If I could, I would take their pain and carry it for them."
The suspects took three women hostage on Wednesday afternoon as they were attempting their getaway, after robbing a Stockton bank. They were engaged in an hour-long high-speed chase and shootout with officers, until their getaway vehicle was disabled, and they engaged in more gunfire with authorities.
Two of the suspects were killed. Misty Holt-Singh, a mother and wife, was killed in shootout after she was used as a human shield by the suspects.
The third suspect , 19-year-old Jaime Ramos, could face a death sentence with the additional allegations that the three people were killed during kidnappings and robbery, Joaquin County Chief Deputy District Attorney Ron Freitas said.
No police officers were injured in the chase and shootout.
