Cyclist Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver In San Jose
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A bicyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in San Jose Monday afternoon, according to police.
The bicyclist was found lying in East Taylor Street west of state Highway 87 at 3:25 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Sgt. Jason Dwyer said that the bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle whose driver then left the scene.
Police have not located any witnesses to the collision.
"We really don't have much to go on except that it's a hit-and-run and we'd like the public's help," Dwyer said.
All westbound lanes of Taylor between Highway 87 and Coleman Avenue were closed as police investigated.
