Cyclist Chased, Robbed At Gunpoint In Oakland Hills
OAKLAND HILLS (CBS SF) - A bicyclist was chased and robbed of a high-end bicycle and gold necklace in the Oakland Hills last Friday.
The man was out for a ride on Redwood Road Friday afternoon when a van pulled up beside him and a man jumped out to demand the bike. According to a San Francisco Chronicle Report, the biker was able to swerve around the man, and continue on the road.
The driver of the van reportedly continued the chase and blocked the cyclist's path, according to Oakland Police Spokeswoman Johanna Watson. A second vehicle came up and blocked the rider in. At that point, a robber exited the van and pulled a gun on the cyclist who turned over the bike and necklace, according to the report.
The cyclist was able to walk to a nearby fire station and report the crime.
Watson said anyone with information should call investigators at (510) 238-3326.
