Curry Calls Kanye West Tweet 'Funny And Pretty Honoring'
OAKLAND (CBS SF) – Steph Curry's journey to the top of the NBA world has taken many twists and turns.
Some of those twists have been rather humorous – like this week when R&B star Kanye West sent out a tweet comparing his music talents those of Curry and Michael Jordan on court.
On Thursday, Curry was asked about the tweet after practice.
"I've seen a lot of his (Kanye's) crazy outlandish tweets, especially in the past month, and then when I saw my name cross through his fingertips, that was kind of funny and honoring at the same time. But then also very weird that he put me in the same conversation as Michael and Kanye."
Curry said the tweet also led to one of his favorite memes of all time.
"Someone did a graphic of me in my jersey and Jordan," he told reporters with a chuckle. "But Kanye's face is on both of us. That's my favorite meme of all time."
Curry and the Warriors open the second half of the season Friday night at Portland. They head into the second half with an NBA best 48-4 record.
