Curry Breaks Wilt's Record Scoring 17,784 Points -- Most Ever In Warriors Franchise History

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - High fives for Number 30!

Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has broken Wilt Chamberlain's record, scoring the most points ever in the team's franchise history.

The number to beat was 17,783.

Curry sailed right by with a 2-pointer in the first quarter of the game against the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. By the time the buzzer sounded at the end of the fourth, the superstar had scored 53 points. The Warriors beat the Nuggets, 116-107.

After the game Curry, who also leads in 3-pointers, assists and free-throws, talked to reporters about the milestone.

"I don't plan on slowing down, but this is one to take a second and appreciate," he told them, adding that he doesn't take anything for granted.

"This is my happy place."

Coach Steve Kerr told reporters ahead of Monday night's game, "It's just an incredible feat. Passing Wilt in anything statistically is sort of remarkable because his name is all over the record books."
