Cupertino Woman Hides As Burglars Ransack Home
CUPERTINO (CBS SF) -- A Cupertino woman hid in her house Tuesday morning as two burglars broke in and stole jewelry and other property, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.
At about 10:05 a.m., a resident on the 10500 block of Cordova Road called 911 to report that two men were in the process of breaking into her home through a side door to the garage, according to the sheriff's office.
The victim hid in a room while the suspects moved through her home stealing property.
The two men fled within five minutes, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies arrived shortly thereafter and set up a perimeter to search for the suspects.
A K-9 unit and other officers searched the neighborhood for about 90 minutes without tracking down the burglars.
The value of the stolen property had not been estimated.
One of the suspects was described as a black man in his early 20s, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, and weighing between 165 and 185 pounds. He wore his hair in an afro-type style.
The second suspect was also described as a black man, about the same height and same weight, according to the sheriff's office. His head was shaved.
