Cupertino Residents To Weigh In On Apple 'Spaceship' Campus
CUPERTINO (KCBS) - Apple's plans for a sleek new campus in Cupertino with space age architecture offering more office space and parking than anything in downtown San Francisco could be the first of several expansions for the software giant over the next few years.
Cupertino residents on Thursday get their first chance to weigh in for the first time on a 176-acre office park that could house as many as 13,000 employees.
The Cupertino City Council scheduled a public hearing for 6:30 p.m. for input on what issues besides parking and traffic need to be studied before construction can begin.

Blue prints for the functionally named Apple Campus 2 detail a circular, 4-story glass and aluminum building at Pruneridge Avenue and North Wolfe Road that former Apple CEO Steve Jobs has described as "a spaceship landing."
"There's not a straight piece of glass in this building," Jobs told the Cupertino City Council during what turned out to be his most recent public appearance back in June.
The company behind the iPhone and iPad is growing so rapidly that planning work for a third campus could begin very soon, according to the Mercury News. If Cupertino officials grant the 13 permits now called for by Apple's plans, the second campus would be completed in 2015.
