Cupertino Bank Robbed; 2 Suspects Sought
CUPERTINO (CBS SF) -- Detectives were searching for two male suspects who fled on foot Wednesday after a robbery of a U.S. Bank in Cupertino, a Santa Clara County sheriff's spokesman said Friday.
The two suspects were wearing hoods when they entered the bank in the 10000 block of De Anza Boulevard at about 2:40 p.m. and grabbed money from the bank's till, sheriff's Deputy Kurtis Stenderup said.
No weapon was seen by witnesses, Stenderup said.
"It was an aggressive act. They went in and took (the money)," he said.
The pair then fled on foot and disappeared into the busy area outside the bank, Stenderup said.
Investigators have surveillance video from the bank and parking lot and are trying to verify information from witnesses who may have seen the suspects or a getaway vehicle, Stenderup said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Paula McAllister or Detective Sgt. Dave Roberts at (408) 808-4500 or to call the department's anonymous tip line at (408) 808-4431.
