Missing Woman Found After Hiking On Mt. Hamilton In Santa Clara County
SANTA CLARA COUNTY (CBS SF) -- A missing woman has been found safe after she went hiking on Mt. Hamilton in Santa Clara County with her husband Wednesday night, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department.
Christina Puckett, 61, was last seen hiking in Grant Ranch Park at 7:30 p.m., according to her husband, who reported her missing at 2:30 a.m. "The wife had walked in front of the husband; at some point they became separated--not in contact anymore. They were unable to locate each other. The husband walked back to the car thinking that maybe she had come back and then walked back out looking for her," said Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department spokesman Sgt. Kurtis Stenderup.

Search and rescue crews were sent out at first light on Thursday morning and returned with Puckett, who was in good condition. When she arrived to the command post just after daybreak, she embraced her husband, who was waiting for her.
"She's in great health. It was very warm last night; it was in the 70s," said Stenderup, who added that Puckett did exactly what a person is supposed to do when they are lost, and stayed at the location throughout the night. Search and rescue personnel found her on the trail Thursday morning.
