Crews Knock Down 2-Alarm Fire At San Pablo Apartment Building
SAN PABLO (CBS SF) -- Fire crews were able to extinguish a two-alarm fire at an apartment building in San Pablo on Monday morning, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District spokesman said.
The fire was reported at 11:18 a.m. at a building in the area of Rumrill Boulevard and Market Avenue and has damaged units in a two-story, six-unit apartment building, fire spokesman Steve Hill said.
Wires have been reported down in the area, Hill said. No injuries have been reported, and crews remain at the scene as of shortly after 11:30 a.m.
At around 12:20 p.m., Contra Costa Fire confirmed that the fire had been knocked down and crews were mopping up.
Authorities said three of the six units in the complex sustained damage and a total of seven residents had been displaced. The Red Cross is helping the displaced residents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
