UPDATE: Fire Damages Commercial Building In San Leandro
SAN LEANDRO (BCN/CBS SF) -- A fire broke out in a San Leandro commercial building Monday night, officials with the Alameda County Fire Department said.
The blaze was reported at 8:11 p.m. in the 14600 block of East 14th Street.
When crews arrived at the building, they saw smoke coming from the roof and upon entering crews found more smoke, Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman Jo Leal said.
But the fire was small and kept to a back room, Leal said.
No one was injured but the business and an adjacent one sustained smoke damage.
Leal said the cause of the fire is under investigation. She said it's unlikely the fire was related to the 3.9 preliminary magnitude earthquake that struck the area earlier in day.
