Hwy 35 Near Los Gatos Reopens After Fatal Crash Shuts Road For Hours
LOS GATOS (CBS SF) -- All lanes of state Highway 35 in unincorporated Santa Clara County near Los Gatos have reopened after a fatal crash blocked the roadway for hours Sunday morning.
The crash was reported around 10:50 p.m. Saturday on Highway 35 near Ward Road, Officer Ralph Caggiano said.
The car caught fire after the crash and was burned beyond recognition, according to the CHP.
Three people were in the car at the time of the crash. One was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were airlifted to a hospital, he said.
Caggiano did not know the condition of the two other passengers.
A Sig-alert was issued at 11:29 p.m. Saturday with the entire roadway closed.
The roadway reopened at about 4:35 a.m. and the Sig-alert was lifted.
Further details about the crash were not immediately available.
