Counselors Help Concord Students Cope With Fatal Bike Crash
CONCORD (KCBS) -- Grief counselors were on hand Monday at three schools of the Mount Diablo Unified School District affected by a bike accident that killed a father and daughter.
Since last week was spring break, Monday was the first time students were able to meet with counselors since the April 7th accident. 41-year-old Solaiman Nuri and his daughter Hadessa were killed. Her 12-year-old sister Hannah survived with minor injuries.
A 17-year-old high-school student lost control of his SUV and plowed into the family as they were riding their bikes at the intersection of Treat Boulevard and Oak Grove Road.

Hadessa went to Woodside Elementary, while her sister Hannah goes to Pine Hollow Middle School. The teenage driver goes to Olympic High School, where the district's Assistant Director of Student Services, Jonathon Roselin, was watching students return from break.
"We're a very large district. We have 35,000 students. We have so many family and friends that are involved and inter-related here. We try to support all the families that are going through this tremendous grieving process," Roselin said.
Concord Police are still waiting for toxicology tests and cell phone records to see if charges will be filed against the teenage driver who was released after being arrested.
