Cooley Leads Harris By 11,400 Votes In Attorney General's Race
SACRAMENTO (AP) -- Republican Steve Cooley is maintaining a slight lead over his Democratic opponent for California attorney general.
Cooley, the Los Angeles County district attorney, was edging San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris by 11,400 votes Wednesday. That's a lead of one-tenth of a percentage point.
The secretary of state's office says 8.6 million ballots have been counted, with 1.2 million left to tally before Nov. 30.
A victory by Harris would give Democrats a sweep of statewide offices.
