ConsumerWatch: San Mateo Solar Firm Looking To Hire Hundreds
SAN MATEO (KPIX 5) - A Peninsula solar firm is looking to hire nearly 300 new employees every business quarter, even as the unemployment rate in California hovers around 10 percent,
San Mateo-based SolarCity is a solar panel installation company with plans to hire more field installers and salespersons.
CEO Lyndon Rive points out that since he does not have a college degree, he does not require one from new hires.
Since its start in 2006, SolarCity has swelled to 2700 employees across 14 states. The company has contracts with Walmart, and the military.
