ConsumerWatch: Ex-Anchor Blue Workers Still Waiting To Be Paid

SAN JOSE (CBS 5) - The popular teen clothing chain store Anchor Blue has filed for bankruptcy. It recently closed all of its 117 stores, including 60 stores in California. According to some employees, they are still waiting to get paid.

Store manager Tom Ragsdale said he was informed that the store he managed would close in January. But when it closed, Ragsdale said he never got paid - nor did his employees.

Ragsdale said he's attempted to call human resource but has had no luck.

According to Krisann Chasarik from the California Labor Commission, filing for bankruptcy does not allow a company to forgo payments.

According to experts, employees of bankrupt companies should receive paperwork from the bankruptcy court that needs to be filled out. Once those documents are processed it could take months to receive a check.

The attorney who filed for Anchor Blue's bankruptcy, refused to answer any questions. But victims could still contact the bankruptcy court in Delaware and inquire about their paperwork status.
