Community tips helped Santa Rosa police identify a suspected burglar and seize 13 illegally possessed firearms, resulting in two arrests, police said.

Detectives identified Shan Titman, 46, a transient from Santa Rosa, as a suspect in multiple vehicle burglaries after releasing a public bulletin for tips in late October, according to Santa Rosa PD.

In a press release issued Friday, police said surveillance led investigators to Titman's vehicle and two Sebastopol residences where they believed Titman hid the stolen items. A Sonoma County judge approved search warrants for both locations.

Titman was detained during a traffic stop in Santa Rosa on Thursday morning.

The police said they found methamphetamine on Titman's possession, along with 12 handguns and a short-barreled assault rifle in his vehicle. None of the firearms were registered to Titman, police said.

At one of the Sebastopol residences on Lupine Lane, investigators reportedly found stolen property and a short-barreled gun belonging to Daniel Tucker, 46, a resident of the house. Short-barreled firearms are illegal in California, authorities noted.

Both men, convicted felons prohibited from owning firearms, were arrested.

Titman is under suspicion of burglary, grand theft, and possession of stolen property, firearms, and controlled substances. A judge revoked his bail, initially set at $250,000, according to the Santa Rosa PD.

Meanwhile, Tucker was arrested for suspected possession of a short-barreled shotgun.

Detectives continue to identify victims and return stolen property. Police thanked the community for their assistance.
