Coast Guard Contains Oil Leak From Boat Near Antioch
ANTIOCH (AP) - The Coast Guard says it has contained an oil leak that spilled up to 800 gallons of diesel in the water off Antioch.
Personnel from the Coast Guard and the California Department of Fish and Game responded to the leak Wednesday after receiving report of a sheen coming from a partially sunken tug boat.
They used a boom to contain the oil.
Authorities said they were working with the boat's owner to clean up the water and prevent further leaking into the water.
Fish and Game said there have been no reports of the spill affecting wildlife. The agency will continue to monitor the area.
