City Workers Dismantle 2 Occupy SF Encampments
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF / AP) -- San Francisco public works crews have removed tents at two Occupy encampments in the city.
The workers moved in on the encampments in Justin Herman Plaza and in front of the Federal Reserve Bank on Saturday afternoon.
Protesters at the bank locked arms to keep crews from going in. At Justin Herman Plaza, several protesters packed up their tents and moved to other locations in the encampment.
KCBS' Margie Shafer Reports:
San Francisco police were not involved although they were present.
Police spokesman Albie Esparza said there were no reports of violence. He said the action was not a raid.
