Christina Aguilera Goes Country With Rascal Flatts At The ACM Awards
DALLAS (RADIO.COM) -- Christina Aguilera and Rascal Flatts teamed up for the first of two big collaborations on the ACM Awards that connected pop and country Sunday night.
It began with Aguilera's "Shotgun." Unfamiliar? It's a new one; it comes from Aguilera's Nashville guest-starring role from earlier this month. Aguilera took the lead on the song, joined by Rascal Flatts in harmony before a white backdrop.
Afterward, Rascal Flatts took on new single "Riot," a slow burner on which Aguilera assumed lead vocals on the second verse before she and lead vocalist Gary LeVox harmonized on the chorus.
For the finale, they were joined by a black-clad gospel choir.
It was the first of two major duets for the evening, preceding Nick Jonas' country turn with Dan + Shay later in the evening.
