CHP Says 2 Boys Involved In BB Gun Shootings On Hwy. 101 In San Jose
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Two San Jose boys are suspected of shattering the windows of at least a dozen vehicles on U.S. Highway 101 in San Jose earlier this week with a BB or pellet gun, California Highway Patrol officials said Friday.
The CHP received numerous reports of vehicles getting their windows broken or shattered on southbound Highway 101 north of McKee Road between 5:45 and 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to Officer Chris Falkowski.
Investigators determined a BB or pellet gun was used in the incidents and said at least 12 vehicles were damaged, Falkowski said.
Around 8:30 a.m. Friday, a 15-year-old San Jose boy walked into the San Jose Police Department and told the front desk officer that he was connected with the broken windows.
A CHP investigator was called in to speak with the boy and learned that an 11-year-old San Jose boy was also allegedly involved.
Both boys were interviewed with their parents present and were then released.
The investigation is ongoing and charges of felony vandalism will be forwarded to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office for possible prosecution, Falkowski said.
