The officer was on Marsh Creek road just east of Deer Valley Road when a vehicle in front of the motorcycle made a u-turn and collided with the officer, Fransen said.
The officer was flown to a local hospital for treatment with what were thought to be moderate to major injuries, but is now expected to recover and could be released as soon as tomorrow, Fransen said.
The collision remains under investigation and no arrest has been made, Fransen said.
