2 Shot In Car On I-580 In Oakland; Lanes Reopen After 2-Hour Closure
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- The California Highway Patrol reopened all lanes of eastbound Interstate 580 in Oakland Thursday evening after searching for evidence of a shooting that left two people injured.
It happened on eastbound Interstate 580 in Oakland near the Harrison Street off-ramp.
KPIX 5 reporter Andria Borba said the CHP found the two victims off the freeway at Harrison and Frisbee Streets. That's where they managed to pull off the road.
Witnesses say one of the victims had blood on his face. The other appeared to be shot in the leg, near his knee.
The CHP shut down the freeway for more than two hours looking for clues, causing massive traffic delays, backing up traffic into The Maze.
The CHP has not announced any suspects or suspect vehicle description.
This is the third freeway shooting in Oakland in less than a month and the second this week.
No suspects have been apprehended.
Three weeks ago, on November 30, two people were injured on I-580 near the Fruitvale exit.
On Monday, a vehicle was riddled with bullets in a road-rage shooting near Grand Avenue.
