CHP Cracks Down On Unsafe Motorcyclists, Bicyclists In Marin County
SAUSALITO (KCBS) - The California Highway Patrol says it has seen a surge in the number of complaints about unsafe motorcycle riders and bicyclists in Marin County, prompting the agency to respond with a new law enforcement effort.

The concerns are primarily focused on Lucas Valley Rd. and the Panoramic Highway in western Marin County, among other "hot spots."
"Summertime comes around, the number of motorcyclists go up and we start to notice a large increase in motorcycle accidents," aid CHP officer Andrew Barclay.
Consequently, the agency is beefing up its presence in the area, not just with extra officers on the ground but aircraft as well, for at least the next few months.
The officers will be on the lookout for reckless bicyclists, too.
"When you come across this pack of cyclists that's, you know, twenty or twenty-five cyclists and they're blocking the entire lane," said Barclay, "it's not only frustrating to drivers but it's also dangerous."
