Chef Hubert Keller's Fleur de Lys To Close Its Doors

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – For over 40 years, iconic San Francisco restaurant Fleur de Lys will be closing its doors. The restaurant posted an announcement about the closure on their website, saying "…it's time to turn a page in our lives and close Fleur de Lys for good."

In 1970, Maurice Rouas, best known for his front-of-the-house presence, opened Fleur de Lys. In 1986, Rouas welcomed a young French chef Hubert Keller as executive chef and partner. In 2012, at the age of 73, Rouas died of complications of diabetes, pneumonia and kidney failure.

According to Eater.com, Fleur de Lys held a four star ratings for many years until 2007. The final dinner service for the restaurant will be on Saturday, June 28.
