Champagne Delivery By Drone At Marin Hotel Canceled
SAUSALITO (CBS SF) - A plan to celebrate hotel rooms in one of Sausalito's most prime locations with a champagne toast delivered by drone on Tuesday was canceled due to weather conditions.
The Mansion at Casa Madrona told KPIX 5 Tuesday afternoon that they decided to stop the drone delivery because of wind.
Earlier, the hotel said visitors would sip champagne flown up to the balcony of their suite at the hotel, which overlooks Richardson Bay.
"We'll toast to the opening...with several bottles of chilled champagne that will be delivered by fully customized state-of‐the‐art controlled octo-‐copter drones onto the suite's two‐tiered terrace," the hotel said in a press release before Tuesday afternoon's cancellation.
The hotel said that attendees would also tour the new 300 square foot suites inside the historic building at 801 Bridgeway, built on in 1889.
According to the hotel website, deluxe rooms in the Mansion start from $509 per night with junior suites starting at $609.
It is unclear if any future drone deliveries are scheduled.
