'Carrie' Coffee Shop Prank Spooks Customers
(CBS NEWS) - Customers at a New York City coffee shop got a jolt recently that had nothing to do with their morning latte.
A marketing stunt promoting the upcoming horror remake "Carrie" freaked out some unsuspecting New Yorkers and the resulting video has racked up more than 7 million views on San Bruno-based YouTube as of Tuesday afternoon.
A fake wall, remote-controlled tables and chairs and spring-loaded bookshelves are used to make it look as if a woman is using telekinesis after someone knocks over her coffee. Hidden cameras capture the reactions of everyone around her.
