Car Smashes Into Concord Video Game Store, Driver Grabs Merchandise

CONCORD (CBS SF) - A Concord GameStop store was burglarized early Tuesday morning after someone drove a car through the store's front window, Concord police said.

Police responded around 4 a.m. to a burglary alarm activation at the store at 5434 Ygnacio Valley Road, police said.

Arriving officers saw that someone had driven a car through the storefront, stolen some electronic devices and then fled, leaving the vehicle still inside the business, according to police.

A woman answering the phone at GameStop this morning said the store was not open today, and that she could not provide more details.

An employee at the nearby Yogurt Shack said he could see that the storefront had since been boarded up.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Detective Mike von Savoye at (925) 603-5828. Those wishing to remain anonymous may call the Concord police tip line at (925) 603-5836.
