Car Perched On Rocks In San Francisco Bay Snarls Traffic On Nortbound 101
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — San Francisco emergency responders were attempting to rescue a driver whose car was perched on rocks in the water along the Bay on Thursday morning after he drove off northbound Highway 101, near Candlestick Park, causing traffic delays.
The vehicle went off the lane about 7 a.m. and the shoulder of the northbound lanes is blocked off between I-380 and Harney Road causing traffic to back up into South San Francisco.

The elderly male drive was taken away in an ambulance shortly before 8 a.m. for treatment related to diabetes. The car, a red four-door Toyota, remained in the water about 20 feet off of the Candlestick Point exit, creating a visual distraction for drivers.
The crash was first reported at 6:42 a.m., CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of his condition but was not otherwise injured.
A tow truck responded to the scene and the vehicle was pulled from the water just before 8:30 a.m., Anderson said.
