Car Kills Pedestrian Walking Across Mountain View Street
MOUNTAIN VIEW (KCBS) - A man crossing a street in Mountain View was killed when he was hit by a car Monday night, according to police.
Police spokeswoman Liz Wylie said police responded to North Shoreline Boulevard and Wright Avenue just before 9 p.m. The victim, who was not carrying identification and has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver did stop and was cooperative with authorities, according to investigators. It took police more than eight hours to clear the scene.
KCBS' Matt Bigler Reports:
Jackie Moreno, a nearby resident, said it can be a dangerous intersection for pedestrians and that drunk drivers are coming from concerts and the downtown bars that are close by.
"I don't like it. I'm trying to walk and come home safely. I shouldn't wear all black, but that's a part of my outfit for work. I work in retail," Moreno said.
