Car Into Power Pole Causes Outage In Hayward
HAYWARD (CBS SF) - Hundreds of Hayward PG&E customers were without power Friday morning after a late night car crash brought down a power pole, a utility spokeswoman said.
As many as 262 customers lost power sometime between 11:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Thursday night when a car hit a PG&E pole, which brought down the pole along with wires and equipment, PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said.
The accident was at the intersection of Kelly Street and Bayview Avenue and the outage is impacting neighbors in the Fairview District, Morris said.
Power is expected to return by 3:30 p.m. this afternoon. As of this morning crews were onsite working to repair equipment, Morris said.
