Candlelight Vigil For Missing Morgan Hill Teen, Search Continues
FREMONT (KCBS)— A crowd of around 500 were vigilant at Washington High School in Fremont Friday night. That's where Sierra LaMar attended as a student just months ago, before recently moving to Morgan Hill to live with her mother. The search for the missing teen is still going strong after more than a week since her disappearance.
Attendees tried to keep the mood light, but accompanying the laughter were the inevitable tears that streamed down the faces of many family members and friends.
"At this point she's everybody's daughter, sister and family member," said Joanna Isom who helped organize the event.
Marlene LaMar, Sierra's mother, was touched by the outpouring of support and said it should help in finding her daughter.

"Be strong, be strong. Come back, okay. You can see all these people here. They're rooting for you. They love you," said her mother as attendees sang solemnly in the background.
Investigators recovered Sierra's cell phone and a purse near her home in Morgan Hill, but still, no sign of the 15-year-old who was last seen on March 16th as she headed off to school.
Santa Clara County sheriff's investigators found a neatly folded San Jose Sharks jersey and a pair of pants inside Sierra LaMar's bag last Sunday.
Officials said Friday that Sierra appears to be wearing the jersey in a photo she tweeted on the morning she disappeared. But they say the photo doesn't show enough of the shirt to be sure it's the one in the purse.
Another large search is scheduled for Saturday morning at Dougherty and Palm Avenues in Morgan Hill, rain or shine.
