Caltrain Hits Pedestrian In Menlo Park; Trains Stopped
MENLO PARK (CBS SF) - One person was killed when a southbound Caltrain struck a pedestrian at Encinal Avenue in Menlo Park Monday afternoon in the agency's 13th fatality this year, according to a Caltrain spokeswoman.
The collision has stopped trains in both directions and passengers should expect delays, Caltrain spokeswoman Jayme Ackemann said.
Samtrans bus shuttles are carrying passengers to the Redwood City, Menlo Park and Palo Alto stations while Caltrain works to clear the tracks.
In addition, both Samtrans and VTA are accepting Caltrain fare media on all vehicles, Ackemann said.
Southbound train 258 reported that it struck a pedestrian at Encinal Avenue at 4:22 p.m., Ackemann said.
