Caltrain Hits Car In Menlo Park Causing Major Delays For Afternoon Commuters
MENLO PARK (KCBS) -- A southbound Caltrain hit a vehicle near the Menlo Park station, injuring one person and causing major delays throughout the afternoon commute.
The crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m. at Ravenswood Avenue. One person from the vehicle was injured and taken to the hospital after the crash, although that person's condition is not known at this time.
Trains were halted in both directions for over an hour as crews tried to clear the vehicle from the tracks.
At about 6:20 p.m., Caltrain officials said that trains were being allowed to single-track through Menlo Park at reduced speeds.
There were about 200 passengers on the train involved in the collision.
