Service Restored After Caltrain Collides With Automobile In SF
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- No one was injured when a northbound train struck a car on the tracks at 16th Street in San Francisco Sunday evening, according to a Caltrain spokeswoman.
Train 439 struck the car around 5:32 p.m., according to Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn.
No one was inside the car when it was struck and no one was injured, either in the car or on the train, Dunn said.
The accident briefly shut down service but normal service has resumed.
Because Caltrain operates only hourly service on Sunday evenings, delays were minimal, Dunn said.
Dunn said she didn't know how the car ended up on the tracks.
