California's Politicians Express Election Night Thoughts On Twitter
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- On an erratic election night, California's elected officials took to Twitter to air their thoughts.
California Attorney General Kamala Harris, who was declared the winner in the race for the U.S. Senate on Tuesday night, urged Democratic voters who are distressed by Donald Trump's lead in the presidential campaign to fight for their ideals.
Earlier in the night, shortly before 9 p.m. PST, California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom chimed in on Twitter, championing diversity in California. Newsom's Prop. 63, a measure that will tighten firearm and ammunition laws in the state, was approved Tuesday night.
This afternoon, hours before the polls closed, Congressman Eric Swalwell, who represents parts of the East Bay, sent out a tweet with the hashtag #WeAreAlreadyGreat, riffing off Trump's slogan of 'Make America Great Again'.
