Cal Women Drop 4th Straight, Lose To No. 9 UCLA

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Rebekah Gardner scored 16 points, Darxia Morris added 10 and No. 9 UCLA beat California 63-48 on Friday night for its seventh straight win.

Jasmine Dixon had eight points and nine rebounds for the Bruins (22-2, 12-1 Pac 10), who pulled away with a 13-2 run midway through the second half in coasting to their fifth win in a row over the Bears.

Eliza Pierre scored 12 points while Talia Caldwell and Lindsay Sherbert had 10 apiece for Cal (14-11, 6-8), which lost its fourth in a row.

The Bruins carried an eight-point lead out of halftime before more than doubling the advantage as the Bears succumbed to UCLA's defensive pressure.

Morris nailed a 3-pointer, Markel Walker made a layup following a steal and Gardner added a 3 for a quick spurt that resulted in a 50-30 lead with 11:45 left.
