Cal State Bakersfield Defeats USF, 77-69
BAKERSFIELD (AP) ― Stephon Carter scored 23 points and Rashad Savage added 10 points and 10 rebounds as Cal State Bakersfield defeated the University of San Francisco 77-69 on Saturday night.
Alex Johnson and Donavan Bragg had 11 points each for the Roadrunners (4-4).
Cody Doolin scored 17 points and Michael Williams added 15 for the Dons (3-4).
The teams stayed close — the largest lead of the game was nine points, by Cal State Bakersfield — and Carter's three-point play gave the Roadrunners a 68-65 lead with 3:21 remaining. Johnson made a 3-point shot, and Bakersfield went 4 for 6 from the free-throw line in the final 1:24 to preserve the cushion.
