Cal Might Be Pac-12's Only Tourney Team
BERKELEY (CBS Sports) -- The Cal Bears were ranked No. 35 in the latest RPI rankings released Monday, making them the highest-ranked men's basketball team from the Pac-12 conference.
Oregon, at No. 61, is the second highest-rated school from the conference.
The RPI is one of several tools the NCAA selection committee utilizes to make at-large selections for the March Madness tournament.
"It could be a one-bid league," said Jerry Palm, who predicts the tournament field for CBS Sports. "It probably won't be, but I can't rule it out. It's that weak."
