Cable Not Ready To Name Starting QB For Raiders
ALAMEDA (AP) -- Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable said he has a good idea of who will start at quarterback this week but isn't ready to announce it.
Cable pulled ineffective starter Jason Campbell after the first half Sunday. Bruce Gradkowski came in and rallied the Raiders (1-1) to a 16-14 victory over the St. Louis Rams.
The Raiders traded for Campbell in the offseason to take over as quarterback from draft bust JaMarcus Russell. Campbell lasted just six quarters before Cable turned to Gradkowski.
Cable said he will consult with his assistants before making his final decision for this week's game at Arizona. He believes he will need both Campbell and Gradkowski at times for the rest of the season.
