CA Exports Continue to Grow
California's export trade continues to recover nicely, and it is now up more than 20 percent over last year. California exported $11.86 billion in goods this past July, which is up from $9.77 billion in July of 2009.
"The recovery from last year at this time has been remarkable with 20 plus percent increase year over year, that being said we're still not over pre-recession levels, we've got some room to increase," said Jon Haveman with Beacon Economics.

He analyzed figures from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and says California exports have been up year-over-year for nine consecutive months. However, Haveman adds that a slowdown of the economy recovery in Europe could weaken the demand for U.S. exports.
"California is lucky in that it's primary export markets are in Asia, and Asia is growing reasonably well, but is also slowing just a little bit from its recovery rates," said Haveman.
California accounted for just under 11.5 percent of all U.S. exports in July.
