Burglars Steal Puppy From Redwood City Home
REDWOOD CITY (CBS SF) - An 11-week-old puppy named "Gus" was stolen from a Redwood City home during a burglary on Monday, police said Wednesday.
Gus, a chocolate Labrador retriever, was at home in the 200 block of West Oakwood Boulevard when it was burglarized sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Monday, according to Redwood City police.
The burglars also stole jewelry and electronic items, police said.
The puppy was wearing a collar that included a blue bone-shaped identification tag with the name Gus and the owners' contact information inscribed on it.
Redwood City police were continuing to investigate the burglary, and urge anyone with information about the crime or the missing puppy to call Detective Josh Chilton at (650) 780-7141. After-hours, tipsters can call (650) 369-3331.
Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477. Those providing information that leads to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
