Burglars Smash Truck Into Tiffany's Store In Walnut Creek
WALNUT CREEK (KCBS) - Burglars smashed a pick-up truck through the front of Tiffany's in downtown Walnut Creek on Thursday and managed to make off with a just small amount of jewelry and goods, police said.
The suspects backed a stolen Ford F250 through the front doors of the store on the corner of Mount Diablo Boulevard and Main Street, then smashed a single display case as passers-by watched, said Walnut Creek police Lt. Steve Gorski.
"All the high-end jewelry, the expensive jewelry is all locked up in safes in the back. They didn't get anywhere near those. They just made entry to one display case, that's all they had time for," Gorski said.
They left the truck behind and fled in another vehicle.

Gorski said police are searching for four suspects in a white SUV. The pick-up left at the scene of the robbery was stolen from Citrus Heights near Sacramento.
The burglary was recorded by the store's surveillance cameras, but Gorski said the suspects' faces were obscured because they wore hoodies.
Police are investigating whether the jewelry store thieves are connected to a similar smash and grab robbery attempt at a JC Penny department store in Antioch around the same time.
Antioch police arrested two men who fled from the store at 4951 Slatten Ranch Road around 5 a.m. after a chase down Highway 4. A third suspect managed to evade police.
