Brush Fire In Byron Burns 2 Buildings, Mobile Home
BYRON (CBS SF) -- Fire crews contained a brush fire in the small unincorporated Contra Costa town of Byron Wednesday evening that spread to three structures and burned five acres, according to authorities.
The fire began burning on the 12000 block of the Byron Highway at around 5:30 p.m.
The East Contra Costa County Fire Protection District requested mutual aid from Contra Costa Fire.
ECCCFPD said two out buildings were burnt as well as a mobile home. No injuries were reported.
Power lines were also down in the midst of the fire area, but PG&E workers had arrived to help as of about 6 p.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials said it seems it may have been caused by an electrical issue.
