Brothers Stab Each Other In San Francisco Hotel Room
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A domestic dispute turned violent when brothers stabbed each other in a hotel room in San Francisco on Tuesday evening, a police officer said.
Police responded to a report of an argument in the 1000 block of Market Street at about 5:45 p.m. that resulted in two men needing medical attention for stab wounds, Officer Albie Esparza said.
One man, 62, arrived at the hotel room where the other man, 53, was staying with his girlfriend, Esparza said. The man who showed up at the hotel wanted to give his brother something, the officer said.
The 53-year-old man was sitting on the bed with his girlfriend when his older brother pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest, Esparza said.
There was a struggle and the younger brother stabbed his elder sibling, also in the chest, he said.
Esparza said it is unknown if the same knife was used to commit the stabbings.
The older brother ran out of the room and went into the bathroom in the hallway and was taken into custody, he said.
Both men were transported to a hospital to be treated for injuries not considered life threatening, Esparza said.
