Brawl Between Women In SF Bernal Heights Ends In Stabbing
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A woman was stabbed during a fight with another woman in San Francisco's Bernal Heights neighborhood on Thursday morning, a police spokesman said.
Michelle Singletary, 27, was arrested following the stabbing, which occurred about 10:20 a.m. in the 900 block of Ellsworth Street.
The 26-year-old victim got into an argument with Singletary, apparently over a man who has had children with both women, police Lt. Troy Dangerfield said.
The victim saw Singletary in the area and an argument ensued. The victim got a kitchen knife but she didn't use it against Singletary, who apparently had another knife or sharp object and stabbed her, Dangerfield said.
The victim suffered lacerations near her eye and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for her injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, according to Dangerfield.
Police responded and arrested Singletary, a San Francisco resident, on suspicion of aggravated assault and malicious mischief, Dangerfield said.
He said she was arrested for the second offense because the tires had been flattened on the victim's vehicle.
