Boy On Bicycle Injured In Collision With Mountain View Shuttle
MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS) -- A boy on his bicycle suffered serious injuries in a collision with a shuttle vehicle on Friday afternoon in downtown Mountain View, police said.
Officers responded to calls of a bicyclist laying on the road near the intersection of Castro Street and El Camino Real around 3:15 p.m., police spokeswoman Katie Nelson said.
Arriving officers found out the child was on a bicycle and lost control while he rode next to a Mountain View Community Shuttle vehicle that was traveling at normal speeds, Nelson said.
The boy was wearing a helmet when he collided with the shuttle vehicle.
He was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he was treated for serious injuries, Nelson said.
Drugs and alcohol don't appear to be factors in the collision, according to Nelson.
