Boxer Runs First Television Ad Of Campaign
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / AP) - Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer is out with her first California television ad highlighting what she calls her leadership in Congress.
Boxer's campaign said Monday that a 30-second ad titled "Made in America" began airing in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Sacramento.
Boxer, who is seeking a fourth term, takes credit for funding a casualty care center for veterans and authorizing after-school program funding. She says she wants to make California a leader in clean energy and to jump-start small businesses with tax credits and loans.
Republican Carly Fiorina hasn't released a TV ad in the general election. She has been outraised by her opponent but is getting support from outsiders such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Fiorina criticizes Boxer's support for the federal stimulus program.
